RAN YAKUMO'S SHRINE

Heya! I'm Vios and I love Ran Yakumo from Touhou Project 7: Perfect Cherry Blossom. I'm interested in talking to other waifufriends and I hope to be able to reach more people by talking about her here. To talk a little more about myself, I do music sometimes and I have a big interest in tabletop games, videogames, anime and manga in general.

About Ran & me

Who is Ran Yakumo?

And why is she so fricking adorable?

Ran Yakumo is a youkai living in Gensokyo, the setting for the Touhou Project series and a small region of Japan that got locked outside of our world by a barrier put in place by Yukari Yakumo. She's a lot of things, including a nine-tailed kitsune first and foremost (putting her age at least at 800 during the events of Perfect Cherry Blossom), a shikigami and also the master of another shikigami, a youkai cat by the name of Chen. Despite the fact that it's a common joke among the Touhou community that shikigami are basically computers, she's capable of free will and what her shikigami powers actually allow her to do is power herself up through Yukari by following her orders, making their relationship one of master and servant. That'd also make Chen Ran's servant.

So Ran and Yukari are slave owners?

Animal abuse???

Of course, that's not how their relationship actually plays out. Yukari acts more as a mother figure towards Ran and Ran, in turn, acts more as a mentor and mother figure towards Chen as well, ending up with how they're usually depicted- As the Yakumo family rather than Yukari's property. This makes it so it's more of her job to do general housekeeping as Yukari is often busy hibernating or getting herself involved in the incidents in Gensokyo, leaving Ran with either acting as her vassal most of the time (something she's very capable of being extremely smart) or just taking care of generic chores, training Chen, patrolling Gensokyo's border for any anomalies and checking in on other people in case they need any assistance. This leaves her with a lot of free time and she's known for being extremely kind and peaceful, often stopping by the local human villages to buy tofu.

Ok, so Ran is the best thing ever.

Who are you?

Genuinely? I am just a guy like anyone else. I like making friends and sharing my hobbies and passions with everyone. I just happen to be in love with a fictional character, and I do not mind the idea whatsoever. Even if she's not real, my love for her is and the more I can talk about her, look at her, be with her, the more real I'll make her as well, not just for myself even if that is ultimately the selfish desire but for everyone else who will realize how much of an influence she is in my life. You'd probably get a better idea just by talking with me, though, so feel free to!

About waifuism

What is waifuism?

This sounds like a thing for weirdos...

You'd be surprised by how many people are actually normal, just like you or any of your friends! I first learned about it through a popular image at the time back in 2013, a sort of F.A.Q. that was done in /a/ back when they still allowed waifu threads.

Waifu FAQ

After having experienced my own view of waifuism as well as having seen many other waifuists' experiences, I'd like to modernize it and make it more accurate to what I believe is the waifu community today.

What is this "waifu" thing you keep talking about?

A waifu (sometimes called a husbando or shortened to S/O, meaning significant other) is a fictional character that a person is in love with (who we call waifuists). They are not necessary an ideal spouse, but they are a character that the waifuist is in love with in the same way someone would love someone else in our world. The feelings are simply directed towards a fictional character, and that doesn't make those feelings any less real. And to destroy the common myth, no, the waifuism community and the incel community have very little to do in common. A lot of waifuists lead very normal social lives and have successful careers, a lot have had relationships with other people before in their life, so just... no.

Wait are you actually gonna leave this unfinished

Yeah, sorry, it takes a bit to work on the page itself, this is my first time working on HTML and CSS.
